Initially born as an analyst psychologist, Dion Fortune (born Violet Mary Firth; 1890-1946) was able to distinguish herself within the English occult milieu of the first half of the last century, first within the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, then in the an occult school she founded, the Fraternity of the Inner Light. Let’s retrace all the stages of her life together and of her work.

As we near Christ Mass, which is the birth of the sun god and son of the Star, many of us are interested in communing with the spirit that is projected onto us by the Star of Bethlehem and it is this same spirit that dwells within each of us.
Eros, who is the son of Venus, is the masculine mirror of his mother. This mirror, you will see, plays a very important role in this teaching. Firstly though, we must understand the meaning of the ‘mirror’ and how it applies to both Eros and to his mother who gave her son the mirror that belonged to her.
